A Landless Woman Who Built a ₹33 Lakh Enterprise

Nitu Kumari, 42, from Tilrath village, belonged to an ultra-poor, landless family. She had no capital, no setup, and no prior business experience. Meghdootam stepped in with support for machine installation, FSSAI licensing, product diversification, and branding. She also received help with farmer mobilization and connecting to banks. As a result, Nitu now runs a successful food processing unit generating ₹1.5 lakh in monthly sales — nearly ₹33 lakh a year. Her confidence in decision-making has grown, her brand is recognized in the local market, and she’s creating jobs for others in her community.
